Known primarily for its shaky history of violence and drug-activity, many make the assumption that the country of Colombia is a no-go when it comes to travel. What many don’t know though is that in recent years, the Colombian government has fought crime in their country, making the livelihood in Colombia much better. Though social and political conflicts still exist, Colombia is a safe country for travelers, and a beautiful one at that. The political and social conflicts of its rough past has shaped Colombia into a passionate and culturally rich country.
